Leaving Rodney Bay Marina by Sea
Our day began at Rodney Bay Marina, one of the island’s most active waterfronts and the center of Rodney Bay real estate, where marina-side condos, villas, and gated communities sit minutes from restaurants and beaches. With By Sea Tours, we boarded a transfer to Soufrière that was far faster and more comfortable than the winding road south.
Along the way, we passed Marigot Bay and enjoyed a perspective few visitors get: St. Lucia’s coastline from the water. Hillside villas, beachfront estates, and secluded retreats tucked into the tropical landscape looked entirely different from the sea. For anyone considering luxury real estate in St. Lucia, seeing the island this way helps you appreciate why waterfront and ocean view properties are so sought after.
Puppies and Lattes at Help Paws
Our first stop in Soufrière was the Help Paws puppy cafe, and it was a highlight. We met puppies available for adoption, made donations to support the cause, and spent time playing with them and giving them treats. We also enjoyed sandwiches from the menu and iced lattes, a perfect break before the beach. If you’re visiting Soufrière, it’s a meaningful, feel-good stop that gives back to the local community.
Sunset at Sugar Beach
From there, we made our way to Sugar Beach, set between the Gros Piton and Petit Piton. We swam in the calm water, ordered food and drinks from the beach, and watched the sunset behind the Pitons. It’s easy to see why Soufrière remains one of the most iconic settings in the Caribbean, and why buyers drawn to St. Lucia often dream of a villa with Piton views.
Back to Rodney Bay, Quickly
The return trip with By Sea Tours had us back in Rodney Bay in no time, which made the whole day feel effortless. A day trip that might otherwise take hours of driving became one of the easiest, most enjoyable outings we’ve had.
